Shower The People You Love

Spent the morning with Mom and Dad. They are good people and have taught me about the important values in life. They are so excited about going to Vancouver Island with Nick and I, and I am really looking forward to them being there. I am especially looking forward to the photo ops.

March 26th is another Calgary Flicker meet. I have not had my camera out in awhile, the weather has been so crappy. I will make a point of going to the meet. I walked the dog this afternoon around 4 and it was bloody cold out. Wind chill at –16C and my cheeks were almost frozen when I got in. I love Canada, but I am not too quick to embrace these late winter blasts from the north. Teddy on the other hand was bounding around like a newly born lamb unaffected by the nipping winds.

Nicks out to a movie tonight (some horror show) and so it’s just me and Teddy and music (Loreena Mckennitt, her voice is so beautifully mythical and her music liltingly Celtic). Some evenings I don’t mind the comfort of solitude. I sink into it like a large soft pillow and let it envelop me like a warm quilt. I often feel privileged that I have the luxury of that kind of peace.

Hanging out with Mom, Dad and Nick today brought James Taylor’s song to mind.
